The Millennial Writer blog started on August 12, 2018, which is why I choose “Year-End” in the title instead of “Annual.” Four months old is still very young to boast anything or to give a highly significant result. I didn’t show the exact data from WordPress because they are not really plausible compared with the longtime blog sites.
The Statistics is from the Plugin Jetpack (I’m not using a Premium service yet). The tool can show to the Admin on how many views, visitors, likes, comments, etc. the website has. It will also give the places where the visitors come from, what posts they are reading, what platforms that refer them to the blog, and what internal and external links they have clicked in an article.
For now, I will only present to you the results from three categories: Countries, Referrers, and Posts.
Overall, there are 43 countries that have visited The Millennial Writer blog. The top 5 viewer countries come from the Philippines, United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and India. It is understandable why the Philippines gives me the highest number because I’m proudly located in the country and most of my Facebook Page followers are homegrown. The U.S.A. proves that the Americans are really on the top of the crowding bloggers, writers, freelancers, and digital marketers on the internet. India is the second place of many freelancers worldwide. And of course, the United States is first and the Philippines is the third hub for freelancers.
Both the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates are unexplainable on my part for now. It might be because of the several Facebook Groups I’m a member of.
Because of my fan page, Facebook is giving me overwhelming visitors. Though the Likes and Followers are just around 1,700+, the clicks and views are still high. Search Engines, for those who do not know, refer to Google, Bing, and other search platforms. The other three on the top 5 Referrers that draw people to my site are WordPress Android App, Twitter, and BrightCloud.
The top 5 Posts visited are:
1. The Undying Legacy of Miriam: A Memoir
The article is about the former Philippine Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago who has created a great impact in the country during her lifetime. She becomes an inspiration for many Filipinos from different generations, especially the Millennials.
The possible reason why it is the most visited and read content is because of the high regards of Filipinos to her, in particular, and to politics, in general. This is the only politically related blog I have created, and I would not want to dwell on the subject though I know that anything political can go viral. I’ve just written this during her second year death anniversary as respect on her memory.
2. Take a B.I.T.E. of Motivation: A Motivator Enhancer
When I have started my Facebook Page, I named it as J.P Abecilla – Empowering People because my goal is to motivate as many individuals as I can. This article is my driving guide to write and the first blog I have written in a great length. It is also the first time I’ve used an infographic.
3. NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION: 10 Goals to Change Your 2019 for the Better
This is actually a rewritten article which was originally posted on my personal Facebook account around July of 2018, entitled Creating and Reviewing Your Life Goals. It’s the last month of the year so that might explain why it is the third top as the most visited blog.
4. Take a B.I.T.E. of Leadership: Developing the Leader Within You
It amazes me why this is on top four. It gives me the idea that people want some kind of encouragement to unleash the leadership skills they might have. Like the other articles, this is full of tips and according to a commenter, “It is very inspiring.”
5. 5 Writing Skills You Should Learn
This is the first post I have created on the day I’ve launched this blog site. It is a definitive article that expounds the differences between the five writing skills, namely: Article Writing, Blog Writing, Content Writing, Copywriting, and Freelance Writing.
As of now, there are 18 published articles on this website. I go on a break in blogging for two months (September and October) to figure out everything.
If you have been one of my followers, viewers, visitors, and readers, thank you for being with us this year. Let us hope that J.P. Abecilla – The Millennial Writer will continue to blog and will have more time to write in 2019. Your comments, reactions, and shares are most appreciated.
